This collection consists of photos dealing with the State Library, covering the years 1837-1963. There are approx. 150 b&w photos, ranging in size from 4 x 5 inches to 11 x 14 inches, and of excellent quality. The earliest photos are of the state librarians (see Appendix 1 for an alphabetical list). The first photo depicting the library was taken in 1925. Most of the photos deal with the fire and water damage done to the Library and its resources in 1951. The collection is arranged alphabetically, then chronologically.
